When your plans change

Use Southwest’s reservation-management service to find the existing flight. Its business-travel information also identifies the general telephone contact for requests to change or cancel a reservation.

Retrieve the original itinerary and identify all passengers affected.
Check the relevant fare conditions and the total cost or credit before confirming.
Keep the new confirmation or cancellation reference after the provider completes the action.

Changing a flight

Check who issued your Southwest Airlines ticket before requesting another date or route. The fare conditions, availability and any difference in price affect the options you are offered.

Keep the booking reference and ticket number ready.
Confirm the new itinerary and total charge before accepting a change.

Cancelling a booking

A cancellation does not automatically mean a cash refund. Read the conditions for your ticket and ask the issuer whether the remaining value is refundable, usable as credit or non-refundable.
